After being radio silent for new Star Wars: Shatterpoint content for several months, Atomic Mass Games finally announced two new Squad Packs for next year, centered around the beloved Star Wars original trilogy. While there is no shortage of Star Wars board games, fans just can’t get enough of the epic fantasy franchise and just keep asking for more. And Atomic Mass Games were happy to oblige and silence the previously worried voices that Star Wars Shatterpoint was running out of content and support.
New Squads – More Gameplay Variety
The first Squad Pack, Fearless and Inventive, will feature none other than the beloved Jedi Luke & Leya Skywalker (as she was revealed to be in The Rise of Skywalker (2019) as Primary Units. And they won’t be alone, as they will be joined by the smooth-talking smuggler Lando Calrissian and the ever-popular R2-D2 as their trusty Supporting Units. Exactly how an astromech droid fairs on the battlefield against Jedi and Sith will be curious to see, but I’m sure Atomic Mass has a few surprises in store for us.
Fear and Dead Men is the second Squad Pack, and as its name suggests, will put the spotlight on the Sith and the might of the Empire. It will feature Darth Vader himself, along with a powerful retinue of three fearsome Imperial Stormtroopers and Lt. TK-289 to cover his back as Supporting Units. The pack is named after Darth Vader’s badass remark to some rebel troops in Star Wars: Vader Down.
Those new to the Shatterpoint gameplay system may not know that despite Fearless and Inventive and Fear and Dead Men are released as pre-build Squad Packs, each unit in the pack can be combined with other units you own, provided they meet a few requirements and are from the same period, which will naturally lead to more gameplay and army variety. Star Wars Shatterpoint provides fast-paced action-packed gameplay that is easy to learn and extremely fun to play. We can expect Fearless and Inventive and Fear and Dead Men to be released as early as January 26, 2024.
