Games Workshop has released the latest and updated app for Warhammer 40,000. A few days prior to the release, the company changed the name of the app in the Apple Store and Google Play to Old to indicate the forthcoming change.
Get Your Warhammer App and Forge Your Army
Right as expected, the new app is now live, and it features a powerful tool that allows you to create your army lists, look up rules and generally, enjoy and benefiting from everything you would need to have a healthy skirmish game of Warhammer 40,000.
The app features the Battle Forge army planner which aligns with the 10th edition (which is the new one being released right now) commitment to making the rules of the game much easier. Battle Forge is there to help you design armies for Incursion, Strike Force, and Onslaught modes, which run in 1,000, 2,000, and 3,000 points respectively.
Warhammer App also makes it much easier to export all sheets that you would need to play against your friends or at tournaments. Meanwhile, the app will have all the index datasheets and combat patrol datasheets to help you jump straight into play and not worry about a thing. Later on, when the Codices release, players will be able to use a unique code to unlock the content on the App and still carry on with the flexible tool that makes playing all that much easier.
Core Rules to Remain Free for As Long as the Imperium Rules
The Core Rules will also be handy in the app, allowing you to quickly jump into play. You can start your journey throughout the tenth edition. In case you are worried about having to download everything right now and salt it away for later – do not be alarmed. The core features will remain free, the company said in a statement:
The Core Rules element and the Combat Patrol datasheets in the app will remain free, while other elements will eventually become paid features.

You may get the app already on the Apple Store or Google Play and start forging your next army. If you want to scoop up all the PDFs containing the Data Sheets, you can do so from the website as well. Right now, Games Workshop allows all the indexes to be downloaded for free.
