The popular producer of hard-hitting board games and miniatures hits, WizKids, has teased a new game called Unboxed. In the title, players will play as archaeologists-in-training who are going to work at a dig site and attempt to excavate mysteries of the past. The title focuses on social deduction and offers incomplete rule sets and instructions that could prove a puzzler – but a meaningful one for those that begin to see the patterns.

A Board Game About… Ancient Board Games

Just like you would expect from a dig site, there will be a lot of things that will be completely new to even the foremost scientific minds, and your intuition and knowledge will help you understand what’s going on. Not only that, but the game is actually about… board games! In Unboxed, you are going to specifically decipher the rules of ancient board games and try to figure out how they work.

Before long, you may begin to see that some of those ancient rules have become the backbone of board games as we know them today. There aren’t too many details about the game right now, but this is something that we will definitely keep our excavation pick-axe ready for.

More Worthwhile Goodies by WizKids

In the meantime, the company is also pushing on other fronts as well, dropping more updates across its franchises. For one, the company has confirmed updates for Ascending Empires: Zenith Edition and Tales of Arthurian Knights. The space saga will get more detailed miniatures that you can put into practice. As to Tales of Arthurian Knights, you get a massive Book of Tales that will offer you thousands of different story threads to explore and enjoy yourself in full.
