Steamforged Games, an acclaimed manufacturer of board games, has added a new franchise to its ever-expanding list of Intellectual Properties, with the Street Masters board game now shifting ownership from Blacklist Games to the authors of such blockbusters as Horizon and Dark Soul: The Board Game.

Steamforged Acquires Street Masters and Pledge to Fulfil Outstanding Campaign

Steamforged issued a statement outlining the company’s motivation and the opportunity that the acquisition now presented. The company praised Street Masters as a beloved and worthwhile game that was appreciated both by the developers and designers in the company, but also by fans.

Street Masters is a 1-4 cooperative board game inspired by classic fighting video games that comes with 65 detailed miniatures, unique decks for fighters and enemies, custom dice, and so much more. The original 2018 game was developed by designer tandem Adam and Brady Sadler who are the minds behind classic and new releases such as Star Wars: X-Wing Miniatures Games, Earthborn Rangers, Alter Quest, Descent: Journeys in the Dark, and many more.

Street Masters is a bit of a hidden gem, too, but it has received critical and player acclaim. The acquisition comes at a time when Street Masters: Tide of the Dragon run at Indiegogo is still not completed, which Steamforged said they would address. Tide of the Dragon is a standalone expansion for the original game.

Steamforged has confirmed that it has already been analyzing what items need to be sent in order to fulfil all pledges ensure a smooth and easy transition of ownership and guarantee a successful future ahead.

Steamforged Details How They Plan to Complete Indiegogo Campaign

“Once we got stuck into the details, it became clear the inventory was spread out across multiple warehouses around the world. There were also unpaid storage bills we needed to negotiate and, due to a miscommunication with the supplier, two items hadn’t been manufactured,” Steamforged detailed.

The next major hurdle is to make sure that the inventory gets to the right place, which is doubly challenging because of how spread it is all over the world. Although this is a costly process that will take effort and money on the part of Steamforged, the company has seen reason to push forward and swallow this pill in order to ensure that the franchise lives on.

Steamforged themselves have successfully completed 15 campaigns and are aware of how to ensure that such seemingly calamitous circumstances lead to a successful and positive outcome.

“In the meantime, we’d greatly appreciate you holding fire on sending any emails or messages. Until we clear the final hurdles, we won’t be able to give you any answers other than what’s been said above,” Steamforged’s statement concluded.

Fans started kicking up a raucous about Blacklist Games, with fans fearing that the company had cut and run. Apparently, this was not the case as by the available evidence, the company may have hit a financial wall, but it had been able to recover by securing an investor who was gallant enough to pick up the bill and score reputation points with the community, as Steamforged has done. Yet, the campaign is yet to be complete, so we better wait and see.
