Lo and behold the old heroes of Unmatched have put aside their differences and are now bandying together to take on much greater horrors. Restoration Games’ first cooperative instalment in the Unmatched franchise has arrived and along with it, a terrifying villain, and its host of malevolent minions.

Unmatched Adventures Lets You Experience the Franchise in a Fresh Setting

A Kickstarter campaign is already underway, but guess what – you are not late to the party with 17 more days to go, and the campaign breaking its humble $10,000 funding goal, amassing $246,238 at the exact time of writing. But back to the game.

Designed by Darren Reckner and Jason Hager, Unmatched Adventures: Tales to Amaze will let 1-4 players to brave new horrors, calling on unique characters such as Nikola Tesla, Annie Christmas, Dr Jill Trent, Science Sleuth, The Golden Bat and others to fight the extraterrestrial or extradimensional horrors that are oncoming!

The villains which will bear down on the heroes will also dispatch their evil ringleaders and minions, including Tarantula, Skunk Ape, Ant Queen, Loveland Frog, The Blob, and Jersey Devil, among others. But don’t worry, because players can still call on other characters from the Unmatched Universe, Restoration Games confirms.

The publisher promises to bring you a game that “keeps you on your toes” and how can it be when you are going to face off against Mothman and Martian Invader as two of the possible villains that will fight you? Both of them have their unique stratagems and both of them pose their unique challenges.

The entire game design has been worked out to radiate a sort of Twilight Zone-esque charm to it, with the cards and field offering that macabre pulp-TV-show setting that will make you believe you are playing the main role of a horror series, and yes – you are!

Unmatched Adventures is affordable at Kickstarter coming at $60 as the base pledge that fetches you a copy of the game. In fact, this is the only pledge you can get, and it comes with Promo Alien and Doom Miniatures, some 16 of those in fact. There is the promo foil card pack, and of course, access to the pledge manager. The date of delivery is set for August 2023, and you may still check out the Kickstarter campaign yourself.
