NorthStar Game Studio has signed a new partnership with ICE Makes, a Hong Kong-based board game publisher focused on fun and innovative games. Through this tie-up, NorthStar will seek to expand the geographical reach of its titles, among which are acclaimed options such as Paint the RosesOceans, and Evolution, and particularly forthcoming releases.

NorthStar Game Studio Set to Expand with Bigger Audiences

Now, ICE Makes and NorthStar Games will work to bring Inheritors and Eila and Something Shiny to more players worldwide. NorthStar Games has earned a name for itself by designing intricate titles that are bolstered by beautiful artwork.

Commenting on this new opportunity, Dominic Crapuchettes who is a former Magic: The Gathering professional player and founder of NorthStar, said that ICE Makes has a clear commitment to design aesthetics as does his studio.

“They are creating worlds we want to explore. I can’t wait to introduce these games to a wider audience,” Crapuchettes said. Both games are promising releases that are set to have a warm reception from the community as well and are already anticipated titles. In Eila and Something Shiny, players will join a narrative-driven and story-rich imaginary world of snowy highlands and various mazes.

There are five chapters to conquer, each of them introducing branching story threads to pull at and explore and enjoy the game. Eila and Something Shiny had a successful campaign that raised around $250,000 from 3,478 backers and was funded in one hour.

We were blown away by Eila and Something Shiny. It combines simple but strategic gameplay with an emotional story we couldn’t stop talking about. We immediately knew this was a game we wanted to share with our fans,” Crapuchettes said in detailing how successful the game has turned out to be.

NorthStar Studio Holds to Core Values

Meanwhile, Inheritors is another fantastic design, with 2-4 players competing to succeed the late king and ascend to the throne of the Five Realms. There are spies and plotting seedy characters all over the realms, however, so players need to deploy their prowess in political scheming and coming on top of a very competitive pecking order.

Still, Inheritors does not leave the well-defined game development mantra of NorthStar Game Studio, which focuses on elegant design, with high replayability and the signature outstanding artform. The opportunity to bring these two elegant games to more audiences has been very well received by ICE Makes as well.

In the meantime, both Eila and Something Shin and Inheritors will be shown at GenCon 2023 and available at the NorthStar Game Studio presentation area.
