Gloomhaven is back in the news with what can rightfully be called one of the most complex and yet popular designs in the tabletop hobby getting a new digital adaptation. The game, which is already available on Steam and is currently crowdfunding on Backerkit with the ambitious goal of $2,000,0000, is going to get a new digital interpretation – this time for the Nintendo Switch.

The release date is set for September 18, and it will be a continuation of the franchise’s popularity and reach. Gloomhaven has already been made available for PC and it is getting a role-playing game as well, along with a brand new frosty sequel in Frosthaven. This is not enough it seems, as the fans have spoken and they want Gloomhaven to be even more approachable.

The Nintendo Switch version is going to be developed by Flaming Fowl Studios and published by Twin Sails, which is already responsible for quite a few digital releases from the tabletop hobby, including Catan and Carcassonne. Besides, board game designers and publishers are actively looking into their IPs which could make a great video game adaptation.

Experience Gloomhaven on the Go with the Nintendo Switch

To get a rough idea of what Gloomhaven the video game is about, players can try the Steam version which is frequently available at discounted price. For the most part, the game holds true to the tabletop design but perhaps saves you some of the hassle of setting up the game – unless you are playing Jaws of the Lion that is.

The video game is a streamlined experience that could even let you play with a full party of characters but no additional players. Gloomhaven Digital is already a massive popular title, enjoying close to 11,000 reviews and bringing video game and tabletop fans together.

Twin Sails Games has also developed the digital editions for A Game of Thrones, Blood Rage, Takenoko, Terraforming Mars, and so many others. The Nintendo version is bound to be as entertaining, fun, and gripping as the tabletop experience and its sister digital adaptation for PC.

Gloomhaven is a game developed by Isaac Childres and published by Cephalofair Games. It’s one of the best and most sold games of all time.
