Fantasy Flight Games has unveiled new wrappings for the Dream-chaser Campaign Expansion and The Dream-chaser Hero Expansion for the Lord of the Rings: The Card Game. The repackaged versions are expected to arrive in retail on July 7, 2023, and bring along with them the newly-polished installments in the popular franchise.
Set Sail for Númenor and Protect It from Seedy Characters
As you may have guessed, these two boxes are the slightly revamped versions of the original Dream-chaser installments, and The Grey Havens expansion. The cards from the original versions will now be found in the two boxes, with the scenarios coming in the Campaign Expansion, and the rest of the goodies in the Hero Expansion.
Some minor reworks have been introduced to the original sets as well. Fantasy Flight hopes that the repackaged versions will also be an opportunity for fans who may have missed out on the previous options to now catch up. The Grey Havens expansion was released back in 2015 and is largely seen as one of the best additions to the game.
The original came with 165 cards at the time, offering players the opportunity to venture to the westernmost edges of Middle-earth and travel even further into the uncharted lands, exploring more of the Tolkien’s world. The expansion introduced mechanics for ships and sailings and added scenarios to entertain players in more than one way.
The Dream-chaser Campaign Expansion will be available in retail for $69.99 and The Dream-chaser Hero Expansion will be coming at $49.99. In the new Campaign Expansion, 1-4 players will be able to sail the oceans of Middle-earth and scout the mysterious runes of Númenor all the while protecting the Grey Havens from raiders, plunderers, and looters.
