Hold on, what? This is probably what you are wondering right now if you have read the title. It’s exactly as it is written. Netflix has secured the rights to turn the Exploding Kittens franchise into a game and animated show in April 2022.
Now, the resulting show has been turned into a new card game – sort of. Exploding Kittens: Good vs. Evil follows closely the faithful original, that is Exploding Kittens, but the artwork and characters are based on the Netflix production instead.
The game comes with all sorts of new cards, such as Godcat and Devilcat cards, with the latter forcing you to blow up whether you have a defuse card or not. It’s wicked!
The game is fun and quick-paced just like the other games set in the series, and you will once again try to not explode while making your opponent’s life difficult through strategic stalling, card stealing, and more. Good vs Evil is a party game that accommodates 2-5 players and is very lightweight.
Additional thematic cards include Armageddon and Raising Heck, and the game is available for $21.99 at Walmart, Target, and the Exploding Kittens’ own online store. If you prefer, you may buy Exploding Kittens: Good vs Evil at Amazon.
The Netflix series itself is actually quite cool, as the show got a number of the brilliant cast to star in the production, including Tom Ellis (Lucifer), Lucy Lui (Elementary), Abraham Lim (The Boys), and Mark Proksch (Better Call Saul), among other talented actors.
This is not going to be the last Netflix board game, as the platform has been expanding aggressively in the hobby, turning its leading shows into tabletop experiences. Most recently, Netflix released Stranger Things: Upside Down and its rival, Prime Video, introduced a board game version of Good Omens.
