Challengers, the popular auto-battling capture-the-flag deck builder, is getting a new expansion which adopts the same name as Challengers 2. The new game can be played both as a standalone version of the original 1-8-player title by Z-Man Games or be used to expand the experience.
At the heart of Challengers lies a web of straightforward mechanics which, when put together, produce highly-rewarding and entertaining gameplay. Players will draft cards in a bid to put together the strongest teams and let them duke it out against each other in an automated battle.
The game is influenced by the so-called auto-battle genre that became very popular in video games with titles such as Teamfight Tactics and Dota Auto Chess and has been making forays into the tabletop hobby as well. Challengers features dozens of different cards that can be drafted, grouped together in teams, and then sent to fight against the opponent.
Challenges won numerous nominations and it continued Z-Man Games’ tradition of delivering games that stand out by their great strategic depth and focus. Now, Challengers 2 makes sure to bring even more excellent features with more than 70 new characters that come from various walks of life – from biker dogs to anonymous hackers, to streamers, to surfers, and so much more.

Thanks to Challengers 2, players will be able to upgrade their attacks and defense and have more things to account for when squaring up their decks against that of the opponent.
Some new effects will even allow players to rearrange their card positioning which is crucial to making sure that a player wins or loses. The new game also features a solo-play version, and if that wasn’t enough, combining both games would result in a new Giga Tournament mode, which is designed for 16 minutes.
