The fittingly called “Board Games on My Mind” book (about board games) by Polish game designer Adam Kwapiński may have slipped on your news feed but it shouldn’t have. Kwapiński has crafted some of the most entertaining experiences in the industry with both Nemesis and Frostpunk: The Board Game proving two of the most engaging and thematic cooperative (although not necessarily) adventures the tabletop hobby has seen.

Certainly, picking the mind of the man who came up with both games would seem like a great opportunity for any aspiring board game developer, or fan who has spent hundreds of hours playing the two games, and this is now an option. “Board Games on My Mind,” is currently crowdfunding on Gamefound with seven more days to go. You may also catch up on an interview with Kwapiński on Beastie Geeks’ YouTube channel:

A target of €5,000 has already been reached with €5,877 offered at the time of writing from 329 backers. The campaign itself is hosted by Boards & Dice, a studio known for games such as Books of Time, Tiletum and Teotihuacan: City of Gods.

The book may be downloaded as a PDF for €15 or bought as a printed book of high quality paper for €15. To have both the PDF and printed version, a separate pledge of €20 is available. Although Nemesis and Frostpunk may be billed as Kwapiński’s biggest games, he has also designed other excellent games, including Origins: First Builders and Lords of Hellas.

All of his games have been highly rated and have enjoyed a strong critical reception by fans and board gaming audiences, with the author now working on an expansion for the Nemesis franchise with Nemesis Retaliation by Awaken Realms due to crowdfund on Gamefound in Q4 2023.
