Magic: The Gathering is known for its competitive gameplay and equally competitive economy. Making it in MTG without paying real money is difficult, not unless you are a very skilled player yourself. To make it easy on new players, we have put a list of MTG arena codes that can be used to claim various goodies.

All of these are free MTG arena codes that will earn you real in-game rewards and make your first steps into the game so much easier. Even if you have been playing Magic: The Gathering for a while, you may find these MTG arena codes to be useful, especially if you didn’t know about them before.

Let’s take a look at how this works.

Active MTG Arena Codes (Free)

The table below has a list of all available MTG Arena codes you can claim now. They are all available for free and will give you a great start of your experience. We have organized these by type to make it easier for you to claim the ones that you enjoy the best.

We recommend making sure that you use every single MTG Arena code in your account, because codes tend to be phased out after a while, as you can see from our Expired MTG Arena Codes list. Don’t worry though, because there is always a fair number of coupons you can redeem to give yourself a firm foothold in your Magic adventure.

MTG Arena Experience Codes

MTG Arena XP codes.

This is the smallest group of MTG Arena codes you will find on our lists, but they are worth getting anyway. These codes will essentially let you advance in Set Mastery and unlock more rewards this way. The two codes below each grant you 1,000 XP points, which make them very good picks indeed.

  • MELLON: 1,000 XP
  • THREADS: 1,000 XP

If you are not sure how to claim a code just yet, just jump to the How to Redeem MTG Arena Codes section of this guide.

MTG Arena Rewards

MTG Rewards, claim extra cards and packs.

MTG Arena Rewards is another way to claim new cosmetics and booster packs and those rewards are usually posted in your account mailbox and deposited by Wizards of the Coast. You have no control over this, and it’s just worth checking in with your account mailbox from time to time to see if some freebie has arrived. You will see a notification when you log in if it has.

How to Redeem MTG Arena Codes?

MTG codes and how to redeem them.

To redeem MTG Arena codes, you will simply need to log into the game client from PC. You will then head over to the shop, where you can purchase pretty much anything there is about Magic: The Gathering, from cards to booster packs to cosmetics. There is a small section that says Redeem Code.

You simply punch in the code from the list and get free goodies. The freebies will be awarded to you right away, giving you a chance to fill your inventory and access some new cards without spending a dime. This is perhaps not enough to give you a tier-one MTG deck, but it will help if you are looking to get as much value from the game for free.

You may also notice that if you are playing from Android or iOS, you won’t be able to claim the codes directly from your phone. Instead, you need to visit the official website and punch in the codes there. This is pretty much how you claim MTG Arena codes for free.

How to Get Even More MTG Arena Codes?

You may be looking for even more free MTG Arena codes, and there is no shame in this. There are usually several ways to do that. First, you can always refer to this page, as we make sure to update it when a code becomes obsolete or when a new one becomes available, usually via Magic’s official X account and other social media channels.

There is one other way that may have you hunt for your codes, however. Wizards of the Coast includes codes in some decks, so when you make a physical purchase, you may use the “free MTG Arena code” to get the cards in digital form as well. Now, you must be thinking.

Why would you spend money on both digital and physical Magic: The Gathering, this is precisely what many players out there are thinking as well. This is why players who play online may want to visit their local clubs and see if any of the hardcore MTG players there are only focusing on in-person play.

If so, this means that they either have tons of MTG Arena codes lying around or are actively trying to sell them. It’s a win-win for every party, but whether you obtain MTG codes this way is down to how well the local community is developed. Some online marketplaces may be a good option, too.
