Cascadia, the wonderful nature-themed tile-laying game by Flatout Games and designer Randy Flynn, is going to be reimagined as a series of puzzly flip-and-roll-and-write games. The two new games that will come as part of a new Kickstarter campaign in 2024 include Cascadia Rolling Rivers and Cascadia Rolling Hills, beautifully illustrated by Beth Sobel, the artist behind the original game and its expansion, Landmarks.
Cascadia Reimagined in Exciting Roll-and-Write Versions
Flatout Games has detailed the upcoming games in a company update in which it has also asked potentially interested players to sign up ahead of the upcoming Kickstarter campaign and be notified when the crowdfunding begins.
The game is not just about branching out to a roll-and-write format, but it’s rather introducing more mechanics to make for captivating gameplay that continues to evolve with each new design. Players will be able to roll dice, collect wildlife and complete habitat cards just like they do in Cascadia.
The game, though, also comes with the opportunity to unlock powerful combos, manipulate your dice, and discover new paths to victory. Both versions of the game will also be playable for 1-8 players and there will be 8 different maps to choose from.
The games will come with a unique Central Special Die that will change the way each round plays out. There will be 4 unique Environment Sheets, inspired by Cascadia, and bringing even more variety, 30 Unique Habitat Cards, 8 Unique Advanced Completion Cards, and more.
Oh, and if this isn’t enough, Kickstarter backers will get an exclusive mini-expansion which will be exclusive to the campaign’s backers. There is much to see and do when you play Cascadia, and Flatout Games and designer Randy Flynn are happy to introduce you to even more worthwhile options to explore!
The crowdfunding campaign will begin early in 2024 with a release due in the fall of 2024. More details will be forthcoming closer to the campaign launch time.
