Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood of Venice, is one of the best video games board games, and now, the acclaimed title is getting a new expansion for the tabletop experience. The upcoming expansion, Apocalypse, will come with a brand new time period to explore, as the action is shifting to the Khmer Empire and its lush and often treacherous jungles.
Taking the Assassin’s Creed Franchise Where It Hasn’t Been Before
The historic setting unfolds in the 16th century and this new opportunity is new not just to the board game, but to the Assassin’s Creed’s universe as a whole. Triton Noir is confident about the success of the upcoming game, too, as the franchise will now explore a brand-new opportunity for the popular title and future spinoffs to grow into.
Even the video games themselves have mostly stuck to urbanized medieval cities across Italy and not ventured farther than that. Things are changing though, as the new expansion for the board game will seek to complement the base game with existing expansions while creating new opportunities to engage and enjoy the game in its entirety.
But if loyalists of the video game series fear that the company may be going a bit far, they need not fear. The board games studio has promised to stay faithful to the original video games lore and not deviate too badly from it or in a way that seems unorthodox and off-putting.
More Features to Discover in the New Expansion
The new expansion though will not waste its time either. It will be adding some gameplay elements and improvements, improving the title across the board, and experimenting with potential additional features that may appear in some of the later games as well. Apocalypse is expected to come with a healthy variety of things to see and do and build upon the Brotherhood of Venice original.
Apocalypse will feature leveling up skills, progressing through a number of campaigns, and taking on various missions to complete. A Kickstarter campaign has already been set up and this is the latest game to have been inspired by a video game. In late February, Glass Cannon Unplugged confirmed that it will be adapting the popular battle royale game Apex Legends to a tabletop experience.
