Christmas is fast approaching, and with it – the time for holiday cheer, festivities, and peace. Unless, of course, you’re living in the world of Warhammer 40,000, where even at Christmas – there is only war.

Games Workshop has announced that there will be 8 new Battleforces boxes for this Christmas in a massive announcement via a Warhammer Community article, which was released this Monday. The sheer amount of Battleforces boxes revealed is massive, as there have only been only 8 such army boxes released since the first Battleforces reveal in 2016. In essence, the 2022 reveal gives us 6 years’ worth of content. As The End Times are fast approaching in the Warhammer 40,000 world, we can assume that this tendency will continue in the future, but only time will tell.

The Warhammer Community announced the lucky 8 armies that will be getting a Battleforces army box, and the models included in each box. Unfortunately, though, no details were revealed regarding their exact release date or pricing. As a comparison, last year’s Battleforces cost anywhere from $300 up to $340, but this year the cost might be a bit higher, given the recent increase in Games Workshop and the ongoing global production and delivery issues due to COVID-19 and other factors.

The New Battle Boxes Will Contain Playable Armies

The revealed armies that will be getting a 2022 Warhammer 40,000 Battleforces box are:

● Space Marines (Imperial Fists) – Bastion Strike Force
● Space Marines (Raven Guard) – Ravenstrike Battleforce
● Thousand Sons – Court of the Crimson King
● Death Guard – Council of the Death Lord
● Imperial Knights – Chainbreaker Lance
● Adeptus Mechanicus – Elimination Maniple
● Adeptus Custodes – Watchers of the Gate
● Adepta Sororitas – Sanctorum Guard

The Warhammer 40,000 fanatics will be quick to notice that most of these armies are in actuality different factions from the Imperium of Man, but this should come as no surprise after the events of the Indomitus Crusade.

The Imperial Fists, the proud and stalwart sons of Primarch Rogal Dorn will be getting a total of 19 models in their Bastion Strike Force battle box: Battle Company Captain Tor Garadon, 15 Heavy Intercessors and 3 Primaris Aggressors.

The Raven Guard, the Imperium’s masters of stealth, will receive 17 models in their Ravenstrike Battleforce box: famed Officer Kayvaan Shrike, 1 Librarian in Phobos Armour, 2 Invictor Tactical Warsuits, 3 Eliminators and 10 Primaris Reivers.

The first of the Forces of Chaos, the Thousand Sons will receive 24 models in their Court of the Crimson King battle box: Daemon Primarch Magnus the Red, the Crimson King, 3 Exalted Sorcerers and 20 Rubric Marines.

Their allies, the Death Guard, will receive 20 models in their Council of the Death Lord battle box: Daemon Primarch Mortarion, 5 Blightlord Terminators and 14 Plague Marines.

Back to the Imperium of Man, the Imperial Knights will receive 5 models (a completely playable force) in the Chainbreaker Lance battle box: Knight Preceptor Canis Rex, 2 Armiger Helverins and 2 Armiger Warglaives.

The Adeptus Custodes, the Imperium of Man’s golden protectors, will be getting 22 models in their Watchers of the Gate box: Captain-General Trajann Valoris, 3 Vertus Praetors, 3 Allarus Custodians and 15 Custodian Guards.

And finally, The Adepta Sororitas (A.K.A. the Sisters of Battle) will get 22 models in their Sanctorum Guard box: Abbess Sanctorum Morvenn Vahl, 6 Paragon Warsuits, 5 Celestian Sacresants and 10 Battle Sisters.
