After teasing the arrival of a legacy project set in the Ticket to Ride franchise, Days of Wonder has finally fleshed out more of the details about this exciting game. Ticket to Ride Legacy: Legends of the West is set in 19th-century North America and the design is the work of Rob Daviau, Matt Leacock, and Alan R. Moon all of whom were confirmed during the teaser, and are some of the notable designers in the legacy genre.

The game will be illustrated by Julien Delval and Cyrille Daujean. The title will have players embark on a twelve-game campaign which will start on the East Coast and gradually veer Westward, with each adventure taking you further into the heart of the continent.

The gameplay will once again focus on the familiar mechanic of completing your tickets, but this time around you will need to work and develop other skills as well so that you can respond to unexpected events and make sure you pull ahead of your rivals, who are just as eager to advance their own railway work.

More Content, New Mechanics, Great Experience

Each game and scenario will be an opportunity for the players to fill their vaults with earnings and unlock new frontier boxes, rules, content, and more surprises, neatly secured into each chapter that waits to be opened and explored. Player choice will matter here and it will shift the action and gameplay into new directions.

Each playthrough will fill differently as the legacy campaign unfolds, shaped by what calls you make at every stage of the game. The game sessions will take between 20 and 90 minutes, and they will depend on how many players you have brought along for the round. New gameplay mechanics will add spice and excitement to the core gameplay, making the legacy experience well worth your while.

Ticket to Ride Legacy: Legends of the West will be available at GenCon between August 3 and August 5 before it heads into retail for its official release on November 3. The game is expected to cost $120 and has fans stoked.
