Grey Fox Games has revealed the arrival of fresh chapters in the Reavers of Midgard saga with two upcoming titles now confirmed. The games in question are Clans of Midgard and Reavers of Midgard: The Card Game, both of which will be launching on Kickstarter before long.
New Additions to the Reavers of Midgard Family Coming to Kickstarter
The original game on which the new chapters are based was designed and published in 2019 by Grey Fox Games and designer J.B. Howell. The game is set in the Nordic age of the Vikings with 2-4 players competing to become the most glorious Viking clan through dice rolling, worker placement, and set collection.
Now, the new games will build on this legacy and take the franchise up a notch. Reavers of Midgard: The Card Game will be a shrewd negotiation and calculation game where players would always need to make smart calls to put together a crew of reavers and set sail to claim legendary treasures.
Clans of Midgard, on the other hand, is a draft, write, and fight game, where you lead your clan into battles and hunt mythical creatures, retrieve powerful runes, and pay your due tribute to the Norse gods, as you seek to immortalize your soul in the halls of Valhalla.
As to Grey Fox, the publisher is a highly successful company with more than 39 projects launched on Kickstarter and the majority of them completed. Both games are expected to arrive in 2024 after a crowdfunding campaign kicks off later this year.
Everything You Want to See from a Midgard Title
In the meantime, Clans of Midgard promises to be everything you would hope for from the series. Players will win by scoring the most victory points but also vie for very particular areas of the map and the world to secure bonus points. The game will give you a sense of being a Viking clan that is ruthless when it comes to establishing its dominance.
There are three rounds of drafting and writing before a player scores a victory based on their points. For those of you who are stoked about the upcoming game, you can start following the campaign on the Kickstarter page already.
