Prime Video’s popular series, Good Omens, will get its very own card game that is inspired by the show. The news was confirmed by Renegade Game Studios which said that it would seek to produce three versions of the game, with slight cosmetic differences across the copies. Thecompany has also revealed the date of official release and now allows preorders.

Have You Been Naughty or Nice

Each of the three versions that Renegade Game Studios has teased will be distributed through a unique channel. One version will be available at Barnes & Nobles and another will be available for purchase through Amazon. A third one will go through hobby stores.

The game’s release is set for May this year. The art of the game will be inspired by the TV series characters of David Tennant and Michael Sheen who played Crowley and Aziraphale respectively. Presently, Renegade has decided to keep the details a little close to the chest.

The studio has not really fleshed out much about the actual gameplay. Amazon could rather be seeking to recreate the distinct feel of the series in the card game. This announcement is timed to coincide with the resurgent popularity of the show, and may be part of a broader promotional effort.

Even though the original show was filmed as a limited series only, it has been now renewed for a second season with fans rooting for the series and asking Prime Video to deliver. This is not least because Neil Gaiman, the co-author of the book on which the show is based, has had a very strong presence online through his work as a writer and screenwriter.

Gaiman has had a particular success with his comic book series “The Sandman” which was picked up by Netflix, and has been one of the most successful shows on the platform. The arrival of the Good Omens card game can be a nod to the return of the second season of the Prime Video TV series. The series is due at some point in 2023, albeit no official date has been announced yet. You may preoder Good Omens: An Ineffable Game yourself on Amazon US.
