A new Five Nights at Freddy’s game is coming by Funko Games, with the company calling the upcoming project as “collectible battle board game,” a genre that has been quite popular across the board game community – think Ascension, Disney Arena, and a whole bunch others.

The new title, Five Nights at Freddy’s FightLine, will be released exclusively through GameStop at first, and it won’t be available at any other retailers. The game will feature popular characters from the franchise, such as Chica the Chicken, Foxy the Pirate, Freddy Fazbear, and a total of 20 characters to pick from across the entire game.

Every character will come with their own abilities as well, but Funko Games has kept mum about what those might be at this point. The characters can be purchased as a part of a Premier Set or individual Character Packs. Funko will try to stay true to the video game series which have inspired the board game.

The plot is as simple as it’s gory – at a kid’s arcade the robots come alive and they go on a bit of a midnight rampage. Despite the somewhat darker theme of the game, the franchise has been able to appeal to a relatively young fan base. The upcoming game is part of this trend and the surging popularity of the entire franchise.

Meanwhile, the game is expected to be very affordable with the Premium Set costing only $19.99 and individual Characters Packs available at $4.99. The game plays in 15 minutes, it’s designed for two players, and suitable for ages 6 or older. A how to play instructions will be shared on the Funko Games’ website soon, the publisher has said.
