Dune: Imperium by Dire Wolf was released in 2020 and the game has enjoyed several worthwhile instalments in the series, including Rise of Ix and Immortality, deemed as some of the best board game expansions.
Now, the tactical strategy board game is getting yet another expansion with Imperium Rising, which is set to release in Q4 2023. Dire Wolf has described the latest expansion as a game in which you try to continue the balance between military might and political intrigue, as you wield new tools to achieve victory.
You will deploy a network of spies, sign vital contracts to expand your resources, and learn how to ride the might sandworms into battle! Imperium Uprising is a standalone expansion to the game, and it features a six-player mode where two teams of three will be caught in a great battle against each other and strive for dominance over Arrakis and the spice trade that powers the galaxy’s interstellar travel.
As Dire Wolf puts it, this is one of the biggest struggles yet. The new game is fit for players aged 13+ and plays in 60-120 minutes. The original Dune: Imperium board game by Paul Dennen has ore than 25 nominations and awards from various international events and industry gatherings.
The artwork for the new game is the work of Clay Brooks, Derek Herring, Raul Ramos, Nate Storm, and the title is once again published by Dire Wolf.
