Asmodee and Sony Pictures Consumer Products have launched a new Cobra Kai board game today as part of an exclusive partnership with Walmart. The game, which is designed by Mixlore, will be available globally later in 2023 after an initial period of exclusivity with Walmart ends.

The game will pretty much follow the same logic as the original TV series, which will have 2-4 players assume the role of Sensei and train their students so that they can go head-to-head in tournaments against other players. Cobra Kai the TV series is both critically acclaimed and it has been on Netflix’s #1 list on several occasions.

Cobra Kai: The Board Game is split in two main round phases, in which the players are first going to train their students before entering the All-Valley Karate Tournament, which is the main focus of the show.

Each player will try to have their student make it to the final and win, as this is the only way to secure a victory in the game. The gameplay is zappy, and revolves around dice rolling, making it fun and easy for players to enjoy it, and doubly so if they are already fans of the Cobra Kai franchise.

The game promises to stay true to the show and provide fans and players with an equally-worthwhile experience. Commenting on the new product, Asmodee USA general manager Julien Sharp said that the game is really fun to play and it all comes to a really great game.

The game retails for $24.99 in Walmart, it’s played in 30 minutes and is fit for players who are 13 or older. Overall, this is the latest board game based on a Netflix show with The Witcher: Old World and Stranger Things: Upside Down just releasing recently.
