Authocracy Studios has launched a crowdfunding campaign for its TCG-like game “Paragons: Age of Champions.” The game plays with two to three players and will not rely on Random Number Generator or boosters to scale the experience. The creators describe “Paragons” as a “all-in-one box set” providing players with a highly-rewarding, streamlined and self-contained experience that emulates the way TCGs feel and play.
Pick or Print Your Champion to Play
“Paragons Age of Champions” sets out to create a TCG experience that does not rely on players constantly securing new sets to make it happen. As the developers promise, there is no pay-to-win element in the game.
The game introduces new core concepts around which players can build their decks. These include “Trickery,” “Spellcraft,” and “Brute Force” as some of the possible pathways to pursue. In the meantime, opponents will vie to recruit the strongest army in the battlefield, with no unpleasant surprises along the way.

The game itself is beautifully crafted and visually-appealing. Its art is distinct and well-balanced, making it an easy read on the eyes and a drawing experience on the table. Players pick their class from Warrior, Mage and Ranger, and specialize in their chosen discipline as they compete in a Player-vs-Player environment.
Kickstarter Pledges and Rewards
The game aims to create a contained experience that replicates the rush of the TCG draft tournament. All pledges are affordable. The “Ultimate Set” is available for $77 and featuring the core set of cards you will need to play, a central game mat, PDF Print & Play and 3x Player Mats. The pledge master allows you to obtain just the PDF Print & Play. This includes wallpapers and an original soundtrack for the game if you want to.
For $44 you will receive the “Base Game Set” which features between 180-244 cards and more. The game comes with a distinct component quality in terms of art. Hopefully, the production value will be on par. The pricing is affordable especially given that it promises to bring a fresh read of the TCG experience in the board gaming community.
Authocracy Studios makes an ambitious claim that it can recreate a TCG tournament experience within a core set. That is sufficiently challenging on its own. “Paragons: Age of Champions” though is a feast for the eyes and draws you in. You may consider giving the Kickstarter a go.
