Cardfight!! Vanguard may not be up there with One Piece TCG or even the recently released Disney Lorcana, but the trading card game has been a meticulously designed system with a solid following around the globe.
Six New Start Up Trial Decks Coming for Cardfight!! Vanguard
To celebrate the growing interest in the game, the publisher, Bushiroad, has confirmed that it will be releasing 6 new Start Up Trial Decks that will hit retail on April 19, 2024. The decks are designed around six of the game’s factions, allowing you to get a quick idea of what to expect from each faction.
The factions featured in the upcoming deck release will focus on Dragon Empire, Dark States, Brandt Gate, Keter Sanctuary, Stoicheia, and Lyrical Monasterio, each with their unique playstyle and deck mechanics, that make the game a competitive title with a solid following. The game is more heavily represented in Asia and even Europe than it is in the United States, although there is serious tournament attendance and following.
Regardless, the influx of new trading card games, including One Piece and Disney Lorcana are making it harder for any one game to claw a significant share, and Cardfight!! Vanguard already uses mechanics that are slightly different than traditional TCGs.
Excellent Value for the Deck’s Askance Price
Yet, the opportunity to buy a 55-card deck along with two Power-up cards, a First Guide, Fighter’s coins, a play sheet, and a pack of 58 sleeves is a very good reason to at least consider picking one or two copies in the first place. Although the decks will be released in April, preorders are supposedly available through December 14, 2023, but no further details are available on the official website.
The new trial decks are a refreshing addition, as Cardfight!! Vanguard has seen a sustained interest, despite competition. However, Bushiroad may benefit from marketing its products a little more thoroughly and making sure that the preorder links are available when releasing an announcement.
