Root’s Latest Digital Installment Comes with a Basket of Features
The digital adaptation of the popular Leder Games’ board game has been well received by the community, spanning a range of further installments with the tabletop expansions brought to digital space as well. Dire Wolf has confirmed that purchasing the expansion on one device would enable to use your copy cross-platform and play on any operating system you want to, providing it’s supported by the company.
As to the game itself, there are new factions to explore, including the Underground Duchy and the Corvid Conspiracy. The expansion will also feature the customary terrain expansion, with the battle taking to new terrains, including the Mountain Map and Lake Map, both of which come with their own unique twists.
Dire Wolf Digital has also taken a look at the setup and introduced an Advanced Setup option that allows the game to draft factions and distribute them in a balanced fashion. All players can join the online Advanced Setup game, but to create a game, a player would need to own 6 or more factions.
The game will also feature new challenges and achievements for additional bit of fun. The original tabletop expansion was released in 2020 and it was well-received by the community as a worthwhile installment in the series. It’s one of the best rated games on BoardGameGeek, a community website.
In the meantime, Dire Wolf Digital has created numerous adaptations of tabletop games for various digital platforms. Some of the company’s releases include the Pokémon Trading Card Game Online, Sagrada, Root, Wings of Glory, Everdell, Munchkin, A Game of Thrones: The Board Game Digital Edition, and others.
